Gather important documents: Application UNSIGNED, Proof of identity, Proof of U.S. Citizenship
Prepare Application Package: Complete application, DO NOT SIGN IT, Have passport photo taken, Photocopy your citizenship documents, calculate fees
Schedule and appointment online or use a self-kiosk at a USPS location
Pay the fees, $35 Post Office Acceptance, $15 Post Office Photo Fee, processing fees $130/$165
You can also renew your passport if you meet the criteria:
The passport is in your possession
It's undamaged
Was issued when you were 16 +
Was issued within last 15 years
Was issued in current name or provide documented name change
